Modular-In-Law Multi Generational Homes

Whether your existing home is modular or not, many people who want to build an in-law suite on their property end up using modular construction, and you should to. In-law suites are also called secondary suites, granny suites and mother-in-law suites. 3 Pros It’s Modular! Like all modular homes, this means Faster, Stronger, Safer, and Less Expensive It’s less disruptive! Since your home is right next door, it is in your best interest to use modular building since the on-site construction time is significantly reduced. Economic Conditions Best in 9 Years

Economic Conditions Best in 9 Years

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Americans are more positive about the nation’s economy than they have been in nine years, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. In a reflection of rising optimism, 53% of Americans say economic conditions in the US are good, up from the 45% who felt that way in June. It’s the highest number since September 2007, The poll also showed that President Barack Obama continues to have majority approval ratings, at 51%. His approval rating has been at or above 50% since February, the longest stretch of his presidency since his first year in office. The 51% is down 3 points since the Democratic National Convention. Obama has a 50% approval rating on the economy, but only 44% approve of his handling of terrorism and 37% of his handling of ISIS. The numbers come as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are locked in a tight race to succeed Obama, with Trump largely running on a populist, heavily anti-trade platform. While traditionally a positive view of the economy...

Multi Family Construction on the Rise in California

Multi Family Construction on the Rise in California

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the use of modular construction in single-family residential has held steady for the past five years at 2% of the completed single-family housing units each year. In multifamily construction, modular is joined by panelized construction to account for between 2% and 7% of completed rental units built annually over the last five years. The Census Bureau describes a panelized process as one where a builder joins preassembled components at the job site. With modular construction, builders assemble fully completed building sections at the site. BIGGER PROJECTS, BIGGER SAVINGS While modular construction in multifamily isn’t on a strong growth trajectory, it is increasingly used on larger and larger projects. In Winston-Salem NC, a developer and contractors recently used modular construction to complete the 65-unit Hilltop House apartment building in just 47 days. That period included the time needed to manufacture the 52 modules that went into it. Meanwhile in CA, the Eviva Midtown,...
